However, the surgery is much less invasive than many of its counterparts. The scars which as lipoplasty leaves behind are frequently under an inch long. In comparison, some other forms of breast surgery leave long scars that trace around the nipple and across the entire length of the breast.
Although a lipoplasty may interfere with milk production, it is much less likely to interfere than some other methods. Because of the small nature of the insturments used, and because the surgery removes only fat and not glandular tissue, it is less likely to adversely affect a woman’s ability to breast feed.
