The Road To Recovery With Drug Rehab Clinics

Info on Drug Rehab Clinics
Drug rehab clinics provide services in a controlled and safe environment for drug addicts to detox from drugs and to start the road of recovery by kicking their drug habit and getting clean. There are many drug rehabs up and down the length of the country and each one offers various types of treatments, medications and counselling services. Each clinic will assess the client and will tailor make a programme suited to that individual.
The first part of the programme is detox. It’s vitally important that the client detoxes from their drug of choice in a safe, supervised environment. The detox itself can take anything from 7 to 14 days. The client can rest assured that the detox part of the programme will be the most comfortable way for them to withdraw from drugs. Once the detox is out of the way, the client will remain in the drug rehab centre for a further period. This can be from 21 to 90 days, depending on the programme. The client will learn to learn life on a day to day basis without the involvement of drugs. They will gradually incorporate daily activities that will prepare the client for life outside the drug rehab centre. They will incorporate activities from basic everyday tasks to specific life skills that will help them to remain clean.
In order to be successful in giving up drugs and remaining off them, it’s vital that the recovery process focuses on not only ending the physical, emotional and mental reasons for the need of the drug.
Most drug rehab centres use group therapy sessions as part of their programme, as well as one to one counselling. Group sessions also play an important part of the programme as the client will be sharing these sessions with other recovering addicts. They are able to share their own life stories and find solace in similarities that they have with other addicts. Most of the programmes also offer family counselling, which can be taken up should the family wish to benefit from this service.
The programme incorporates life skills. The client will slowly learn to regain certain aspects of day to day living that through their drug abuse, has been forgotten or ignored. These can include shopping, cleaning, working, personal hygiene etc. The client needs to regain responsibility for household chores to finances.
As well as learning life skills, most drug rehab centres provide other forms of therapy such as art, yoga, massage and nutritional information. Some drug rehab clinics have use of private gyms and encourage some form of physical activity although this is optional. Lack of physical activity can lead to depression and boredom which inevitably may lead back to addcition.
All drug rehab clinics vary in price but all offer programmes from 28 days to 3 months. It’s important to do some research and find the best drug rehab clinic that will meet your needs.
