Thinking about the Nordic Track A2750 Pro treadmill? Wondering if it’s right for you?
The A2750 Pro treadmill is quite popular these days due to a “Best Buy” rating last year from Runner’s World Magazine and a very affordable price (coming in under $1000).
But is it the best choice for you? Here is a brief review of the advantages and disadvantages of the Nordic Track A2750 Pro Treadmill to help you decide:
#1) iFit Live
This is a new technology that NordicTrack puts on a few of their newer models. If you’re looking to turn a boring old treadmill into your own personal fitness studio, iFit LIVE can help you do it.
iFit Live connects your treadmill to the Internet (using the wireless in your home). From there you can use Googlemaps to run trails all over the world (with landmarks seen in your console window). You can also download new workouts to your treadmill where a personal trainer coaches you verbally through the workout for extra motivation.
With iFit Live you can also keep track of your workout stats and activity, set goals and see how far you’ve come. There are even workout videos available for download. So basically you never get bored with this technology as there is always something to do.
However do note that, unlike some of NordicTrack’s more expensive models, the iFit is not built-in. It is a module that you buy for a small charge separate from the treadmill.
#2) 2.75 HP Motor
For the price point, this is a fairly strong motor and will give you the power you need, even if you want to run. It uses an internal fan to keep the motor components cool (which can help extend the life of your motor). This also helps to reduce noise for a more quiet workout. Also, it’s nice to note that the motor is covered by a lifetime motor warranty which helps protect your investment.
#3) Extra Long 60 Inch Belt
The Nordic Track A2750 Pro treadmill comes with an extra long 60 inch belt. Since most treadmill under $1000 in the past gave you belts from 50 inches to 55 inches, this is a nice touch that gives you extra room to move.
#4) Touch Screen Console
You can change your selections with a quick swipe of the finger. The Touch Screen console is very sleek and easy to use to navigate your stats while working out.
#5) iPod Dock with Speakers
While this is becoming fairly standard on many treadmills, it’s still a nice feature to have. You can plug in your iPod and play your favorite workout music through the built-in speakers. This alone can make your workout go by faster and feel more enjoyable.
So those are some strengths of the Nordic Track A2750 Pro Treadmill. Are there any weaknesses?
While these aren’t necessarily weaknesses, there are a few things you should know before buying. First of all, if you don’t have wireless internet set up in your home, you won’t be able to use the iFit Live feature (although there are still built-in workouts that come with the treadmill).
Also, the console is smaller and not as advanced as some of NordicTrack’s higher end models which give you full color large screen displays. Still, for what you get for the price, it’s a great overall value. It’s not hard to see why it was given a recommendation from Runner’s World. Plus if you know where to buy, you can often get Free Shipping to your home.
Overall, if you’re a frequent walker or light jogger looking for a strong, affordable treadmill with some comfort-added extras the A2750 Pro treadmill may be right for you.
