Controlling Acid Reflux & Living Life To The Fullest
Learn how to manage and control acid reflux and heartburn the natural way. http://www.acidrefluxmanagement.com
Acid reflux erodes away the esophagus, eating away on the esophagus lining. This can cause irritation, damage and can be very painful. I know this from first hand experience, I was diagnosed with erosive esophagus back in 1981, when I was only 26 years old.
Over time I have learned how to control acid reflux and I want to share this with you. I go over foods and drinks that should be avoided or entirely eliminated. This isn’t easy, but if you want to control acid reflux disease, certain foods have to be looked at and avoided.
Foods that should be eaten rarely to help prevent acid reflux disease are as follows….
The number one food that gives me fits is tomato products, (i.e. fresh tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato soup and tomato juice). Some meals I really enjoy but can’t eat on a regular basis are lasagna, spaghetti, chili and pizza.
Number two on my list is garlic, onions and peppers, I really love these foods but they don’t like me. They really cause me fits with bouts of indigestion and acid reflux.
Another big culprit in setting off acid reflux is fried-fatty foods. Fatty fried foods can, in some people really cause serious troubles, related to acid reflux disease.
In the summer time I really enjoy sitting back relaxing, enjoying a large glass of lemonade. Just like with tomato products, lemonade is full of acids that can kick off a attack of acid reflux, so instead I settle for a glass of water. All acidic foods should be avoided to keep control of your acid reflux problems.
Alcohol, is another producer of acid reflux. Alcohol creates more acid in the stomach, causing your acid reflux disease to flare up. I quit alcohol entirely 11 years ago and since then I have had much better control of my heartburn and acid reflux.
Smoking is another problem creator when it comes to heartburn and acid reflux. Smoking irritates the esophagus and as we all know, for better health we must quit this nasty habit.
In conclusion, by watching your diet, eating well balanced, low-fat meals and a little exercise, acid reflux disease can be controlled, while leading a normal life. Take it from me, a sufferer of acid reflux disease for over 30 years, follow the advice in this article and life can and will be much better, when it comes to living with acid reflux disease.
