So, you live outside of your city or town, and you do not have your home connected to the local tap water, and as a result, you have well Water. The only problem is that your well is a magnet for rust, E. Coli, Salmonella, and other major bacterias. The pipes might be old, rusted, and beat up, and you barely feel comfortable taking a shower in it, much less drinking from them. So you buy countless amounts of bottled water, and as a result, your wallet is lighter, and you have all of these plastic bottles filling your home that are just a great nuisance to deal with. You want to do something about it, but do not know what. Well, have you considered using a gravity water filter to make your own purified water?

Despite how it may sound, a gravity water filter is actually a relatively inexpensive device. A gravity water filter is a device that simply has water pass through it, and then the water is perfectly drinkable. The way it is done is relatively simple. You pour water into the filter, which resembles a water cooler, and then the water passes through the filter, where any unwanted particles are caught and then the water is purified. For a better illustrated analogy, imagine that a pot of noodles run through a strainer is water that contains bacteria and rust, and anything else unpleasant to drink. The noodles will remain in the strainer while the water will pass through.

Most gravity water filters have terrific success rates at removing very harmful bacteria, with some reporting a 99% success rate. Considering that the cost of a gravity water filter is only between one hundred to two hundred dollars, that is nothing compared to the amount of money that you would spend year after year on bottled water. You may be wondering whether or not the water filter is sturdy and whether or not it would break after repeat usage. You will be happy to know that the water filters have very long time spans for usage, with some brands being able to pump out tens of thousands of gallons before needing to be replaced by the user.

Needless to say, the potential to save money is always a great motivator, but easily the best thing about it is that you will now have clean drinking water at your disposal without having to resort to more drastic measures.
