In this day and age, everyone’s talking about weight loss-and has been for a while. I don’t know about you, but I’ll be honest-I’m a little sick of it. I don’t really believe in miracle diets. I do believe, however, in good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. People shy away from the simplicity of that solution, maybe thinking it can’t be much fun. They want-and please pardon any punning on my part-to have their cake and eat it, too.

The Joy of True Health -

But this is what I’m here to tell you: if you think being healthy isn’t fun, you’ve never been truly healthy. Because the way your body feels is worth any apparent sacrifice-and I say apparent because I think you’ll come to realize that it wasn’t really a sacrifice. All that sugar and fat never really made you feel that great, let’s be honest. It gave you an initial high, maybe. But when you crash, you crash hard, and feel disgusting as a result.

So, I want to talk a little about some basic nutritional supplements that can get you on the road to weight loss and feeling good physically and mentally. It’s not a miracle diet. It’s just science, working in conjunction with nature.

Very Important Supplements for Weight Loss -

First, you’re going to want to get psyllium husks. One tablespoon full half an hour prior to meals with a large glass of liquid is especially good if you’re prone to high or low blood sugar. It also provides fiber and makes you feel full, cutting down on hunger pangs.

Next, you’ll want to take 200-600 mcg daily of chromium picolinate. This stabilizes the metabolism of simple carbohydrates and thus reduces sugar cravings. Dimethylamino-ethanol (DMAE), taken as directed on the label, increases vitality.

Supplements of essential fatty acids such as flaxseed oil, primrose oil, and salmon oil, taken as directed on their labels in conjunction with a low-fat diet, are necessary for the functioning of every cell in the body and also provide appetite control. 1,000-1,500 milligrams of kelp daily will provide balanced minerals and iodine and aid in weight loss.

Lecithin is a fat emulsifier, breaking down fat so it can be removed from the body. If taken in granule form, you should have one tablespoon three times a day prior to meals; if in capsule form, 1,200 milligrams three times a day before meals. Spirulina is a wonderful source of usable protein that contains necessary nutrients and stabilizes blood sugar. It can be a meal replacement or taken as the label directs three times daily between meals.
