Bee Propolis. Do You Know The Benefits To Your Everyday Health?
Copyright 2010 Penny Shellswell has personally enjoyed the benefits of Natural Treatments for years. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and this has led her to share the benefits so others also can lead healthier lives. http://beepropolis.naturaltreatmentsonline.com/
Bee Propolis first crossed our path when I was in acute pain from a kidney infection. Before I got to the doctor a friend gave me some and within an hour all the pain had gone. I felt a bit of a fraud going to see the doctor!
‘Propolis, a substance with the greatest efficiency against the greatest number of diseases’. This was the amazing conclusion of Dr K Lund Aagaard, the prominent Danish scientist after carrying out many tests into the properties of it.
So what exactly is Bee Propolis? It is one of the seven products of the Bee Hive and is the sticky substance gathered by bees from tree bark, plants and leaves. It is a hard and brittle substance when cold but soft and sticky when warm.
This is not a product for you if you are allergic to tree resin!
Bees line the inside of their hives with it to sterilize them and to protect them from intruders and infection. If insects or indeed rodents enter the hive they are stung to death and then completely encased in propolis which eliminates any bacterial activity contaminating the hive. Bees also use it to seal any cracks in their hive, hence it is also known as Bee Glue.
It is reported that the interior of a bee-hive is many times more sterile than most operating theatres in western hospitals!
As with all natural God given products, Bee Propolis has a very long world-wide history. It was used as a wound dressing during the Boer war in South Africa. The Soviet Army used it during World War II and refer to it as ‘Russian penicillin’.
Hippocrates, the father of medicine, used it to heal sores and ulcers, both internal and external.
Remy Chauvin, MD, of Sorbonne, Paris spoke of propolis saying it has a, ‘one hundred percent killing effect on bacteria and said that ‘propolis works by raising the body’s natural resistance to infection through stimulating one’s own immune system’.
This helps explain why propolis is such a remarkable probiotic helping to fight disease reactions within the body. Many people take it daily and are generally free of all colds, infections, flu and other typical winter problems. It can even help control runaway cell breakdown, a condition symptomatic of cancer.
Bee Propolis immobilizes infectious bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other harmful foreign agents by surrounding the agent, sealing them up, and rendering them useless. While killing bad bacteria it boosts the good bacteria thus making one less susceptible to further problems.
One lady reported to us how she had successfully dealt with a fungal infection. After battling for weeks with a fungus under her little finger nail, which had twice lifted and removed the nail completely, she started to use a liquid propolis. She applied a drop morning and evening and the whole problem quickly cleared up.
Interestingly propolis is consistently effective because bacteria, viruses, and fungi cannot, for some reason, build a tolerance to it. Doesn’t that cause you to wonder why it is not more widely known and used?
Significant studies have shown the anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour and antioxidant effects of Bee Propolis. These three capacities alone should be a cause for much greater research and promotion.
