A Weeks Worth of Amazing Abs Workout That You have Probably Never Even Thought Of

Have you been doing a thousand sit ups a day without results? Do you want a work out that will give you amazing abs? Well, prepare to be surprised. The reason most people do not get amazing abs from doing ab exercises is because you cannot spot reduce fat. To get amazing abs you need to reduce your over all body fat percentage to under 10% for a man and 16% for a woman.

So how do I go about getting amazing abs?

Well, this may come as a further surprise but we are not going to work your abs at all. First we are going to build muscle because the more muscle you have the more fat you burn. Just as you cannot spot reduce fat it is not recommended to do exercises that focus on individual muscle groups. You want to do exercises like dead lifts and squats, bench press and clean and jerk that work multiple muscle groups at the same time. These types of exercises do two things at the same time, they inadvertently tone and strengthen your core torso muscles (abs) and increase your rate of metabolism causing you to burn more fat even when you are not working out.

The next thing you will want to do is develop a cardio routine to burn even more fat. However, you do not want to just run mile after mindless mile. No, to do cardio we are going to use something called a kettlebell which is a Russian device that looks like a cannonball with a handle. Because of its design it is ideal for swinging and is much more adaptive that a barbell to use in a wider variety of exercise combinations.

Men will typically start out with a 35 pound KB and women will use a 15 or 25 pounder. Now, remember, the key to seeing your abs is burning enough calories to get down to a sufficient body fat percentage. The vast majority of exercises at the gym just do not do that. If you spend 30 minutes running on the treadmill you may burn 500 calories. But, you still have 3,000 left until you burn a single pound of fat. If you lift weights you will be building muscle which will increase your metabolism and help burn more fat throughout the day, but you will usually not get the benefits of a cardio workout.

These kettlebell exercises as designed to increase your metabolism both during the workout as well as throughout the day because they are designed for you to exert more effort than you have probably done in a while. It will be difficult but it will be effective.

The exercises are designed to be done in a circuit with only a brief period of rest in between each exercise. Do as many circuits as you can. To increase the fat burning effects you may even want to wear a backpack filled with sand.

Week 1: A/B/A/B/A week 2: B/A/B/A/B

A: 1 armed clean and press, squat to a two armed clean and press (squat down pick up the KBs and then clean and press them), 1 armed snatch, squat to a two armed military press, lateral raises, sumo dead lift to a high pull

B: KB swing (swing it between your legs thrusting out with your hips), combination renegade rows with pushups, KB swing, bent over 1 armed rows, KB swing, pull ups

As I said, the KB is very versatile and you can develop combination exercises like the squat to clean and press that you just could not do with a barbell. The benefit of this is that your entire body gets worked in a very short amount of time. You will be exhausted, believe me. But, with these amazing abs workouts, you will also be burning fat at a much higher rate than you would have otherwise so you actually get to see your abs.
